Many of the clients I coach lack confidence.
Sometimes all they need is for someone to hold up a mirror to show them that the negative story they are telling themselves does not match reality. A reality which is far more positive and open to possibility.
The words we use to tell our story are important because we can internalise them, creating a vicious cycle of blame and judgement.
Next time you admonish yourself for being “unlucky” or “unusual” or “not good enough“ remember that “The words we speak become the house we live in” (Hafiz).
If you want to create a new story to live by, start by changing the words you use to describe yourself and your life.
