hooking your audience with a career story

Any journalist worth their salt knows what a hook is.

It is the opening statement to the story, it grabs the reader’s attention, drawing them in to read more.

When telling your career story, a good hook can also be invaluable.

For example, take a look at some of these LinkedIn About sections.

In particular, I love Katrina O’s: “I caught fire coding”.

Straight away, I’m hooked. I want to read more about her. And the rest of her career story does not disappoint.

If you struggle to tell your career story (and find your hook) reach out.
